A frightened puppy faces the world
Someone had just abandoned the scared puppy in a box on the side of the road. When her foster mom first got the her, the pup was shaking and crying all the time. She would just sit down, just wanting to be by herself.
Foster mom had never seen a more depressed dog. Luna couldn’t walk, she couldn’t even stand up for any amount of time. She would lick out of his hand or out of a spoon.
Then she started walking a week later. She would fall all the time, then she would try to get back up. After she started walking, semi wagging her tail, then she learned to run. Once she’d figured that out, her whole attitude changed. She absolutely loved to run and decided to run everywhere!
She started chewing and doing all kinds of puppy things. Said Foster Mom, “We knew she needed socializing and since a friend had a Great Dane puppy, we thought, ‘Why not?’ ”
Luna finds a friend
The two puppies formed a really strong big-creature, little-creature relationship, completely dedicated to each other. Luna’s whole body was the size of his nose! Yet, he was so gentle with her. She would go running up to him, not afraid of him at all. Despite the difference in size, they played together easily and happily.
Mom would let the pup sleep with her and Luna, no longer a scared puppy, would wake her up by hitting her with her paws. She had a lot of personality in her paws. Friends would say, ‘I think she’s part cat’, and Mom would answer, “That and kangaroo and who knows what else?”
Luna was overflowing with energy and spunk. Everyone noticed it. She was a lot better and kept getting better, doing great. Luna had such a crazy personality, perhaps that’s why she got better and better every day. Despite all her personality quirks, she was getting tons of applications for adoption.
A brand new home
Luna has now been adopted and her forever home parents, Hunter and Genevieve, say she took all of 5 minutes to realize she was where she needed to be. She turned into such a monster that if you don’t pay attention to her, she lets you know that it is time.
