Siberian Huskies, talking dogs

Siberian Huskies are one of the most vocal breeds of dog in the world. While they tend to bark less, they make up for it with their constant howling and whining. So if your friends tell you that it’s fun having a Husky around, well, truth be told, it is!

If you’ve ever thought you had a talkative dog, then you’ve never owned a Husky, unless, that is, yours IS a Husky. Yep, these adorable fur factories are not only loving members of your family, but they are also a source of comic relief, especially during these trying times. Take Mishka, for example.

Mishka, the talking Husky, lives with her family in New Jersey. Her owner, Matt Gardea, posts videos of the talkative dog on his social media accounts, showing off the dog’s “talking” skills. Because of her talent for talking, Mishka has become quite an internet star, getting more than a million views on all her videos.

Potatoes, anyone?

In one particular video, Mishka and her sibling, Laika, were chilling on the bed when Gardea started filming. Gardea and his wife were asking their son, Trevor, if he wanted potatoes, to which the boy upright replied with, “I don’t want potatoes.” Gardea even offered Trevor to help him make potatoes, but the little boy’s mind was already made up—he didn’t want anything to do with potatoes.

After having his offer declined by Trevor, Gardea then turned the camera to Mishka, who was chilling on the couch with her sibling, Laika, the entire time. Gardea then asks Mishka, “Mishka, you want potatoes?” and unsurprisingly, the talkative dog replied with a clear, “I want potatoes.”

Both Gardea and his wife could not hold back their laughter as they realize what Mishka had said. What a smart dog! Unfortunately, Mishka, the talking dog had died of cancer back in 2017, and all we have are memories of her talking with her family. You will forever be missed, Mishka! Thank you for the laughs.

Watch the talkative dog say she wants potatoes in the video below.

Dog Got It

Located in Maine, we are dog lovers, and have had several breeds to learn from. And they do teach us, if we listen! A wolf hybrid taught us about the value of positive reinforcement and building trust; a Fox Terrier taught us about the necessity of basic commands off-leash; a Sheltie taught us about how to keep a working dog engaged and happy; and a Border Collie taught us that even a severely handicapped dog can bring joy into your life.
