Although dogs are incapable of taking photos by themselves, their humans often take selfies with them. Dogs usually need a human to press the button on a camera to take a picture. However, Scraps, a three-legged dog who has no idea that she’s supposed to be “handicapped”, is trained to do this kind of trick. The dog is an independent pup who loves taking adorable photos in her very own selfie booth.
This activity, though, would not be possible without the invention of her mom, Simone Giertz. Simone is famous because of her YouTube channel, but the dog owner is also a hero to Scraps. She created a small dog photo booth using Legos, so her beloved dog could shine by herself.
Simone is known for her innovative concepts, which are almost always for fun more than for practicality. The innovations that made her famous on YouTube include an alarm clock that slaps her in the face and a Tesla pickup truck. But now, the woman’s best innovation is one that her beloved Scraps enjoys using, a dog photo booth.
Despite Scraps’ condition, Simone knows that her dog is capable of doing other things. She patiently taught Scraps how to scroll pictures on a mobile device. Once the dog had perfected this skill, Simone then taught her how to take photos using her paws. That was a rather challenging task for Scraps, though, because she has big paws.
However, Scraps worked hard and showed Simone that she wanted to learn the art of photography. This is when Simone also realized she could create an innovative camera that would fit the cute dog. So, Simone started the work and partnered with Lego on this innovation.
Inside the dog’s photo booth, there is a camera, along with a specialized button that the dog knows how to operate. Simone started by rewarding Scraps with food whenever she pressed the button. Once she had learned that, Simone moved on to the camera so Scraps could take pictures of herself. Though she got the chance to use the innovation first, later on, Scraps shared it with other dogs, and the finished products were absolutely adorable!
